The proposed evolution of the organism is kinda crazy.Calebhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13546745497336948226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8448663046375322498.post-37489262033399445732010-09-22T09:33:57.266-06:002010-09-22T09:33:57.266-06:00Thanks Matt. Once interesting point is that the cause of death is still not known, I think the leading hypothesis is that Bd interferes with respiration though the skin. The Loraxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13361004494346338824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8448663046375322498.post-10973339466426815872010-09-22T04:17:41.257-06:002010-09-22T04:17:41.257-06:00Bd is not the only cause of amphibian declines but...Bd is not the only cause of amphibian declines but it seems to be the culprit in most of the cases that are otherwise mysterious. It definitely occurs in temperate climates, including Canada and the US and has been implicated in the many instances of population crashes observed in multiple frog species in western North America. Interestingly, it is not viable in hot weather. The affected tropical frogs are mostly those that occur in cooler climates at higher elevations.MattKnoreply@blogger.com
